The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. Amongst the buildings is what is reputedly the northernmost church in Norway. A tower and wireless masts are on top of the Sadlen in the background. The horizon is not quite level. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
