A street scene at Hammerfest, Norway. All of the buildings are constructed of timber. On the left is Oscars Plads and the premises on the right include a photographer (foto) and a barber (barbor). St. Michael's Church is at the end of the street. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
