The east side of the town at Hammerfest, Norway, seen from the lower slopes of the Sadlen looking north. All of the buildings are constructed of timber. Three motor cars are parked at the end of the road on the right. The northern mountains of Klavo are in the background. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
