The Storvand Lake at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north-east from the foot of the Sadlen showing a few houses on the far shore of the lake. The mountain in the background has some snow near the summit. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
