The main part of the town and part of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway, looking north-west from the slopes of the Sadlen. The Parish Church is near the water's edge to the right of centre. In the right foreground is the premises of Herreekviperingen and other shops are on the right. The island of Sörö is in the background. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
