The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking south-west across the harbour showing a large number of motor fishing vessels and some other small craft. The buildings are all constructed of wood and include warehouses occupied by Feddersen & Nissen. Shops occupied by Harald Jensen Skotoimagasin og Laerhandel and C.F. Knobloch Kolonial Kruston are to the left of centre. The Parish Church is to the right of centre of the picture. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
