Motor fishing vessels in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.
Motor fishing vessels in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north from the quayside showing motor fishing vessels and a small steamship moored in the harbour. Some of the fishing vessels are registered T19G, F.54.M, F.1.H and N36F. A warehouse building on wooden piles is fronting the harbour. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived. The northern mountains of Klavo are in the background in this foreshortened view.
