A view of Valletta taken from an elevated position on board the Orient Line passenger cruise ship Orcades (1948) that is being manouevred by the Royal Navy tug Respond (1918) tug in Grand Harbour, Malta. In the middle distance is a port bow view of the passenger/cargo liner Esperance Bay (1922) with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary armament stores ship Fort Sandusky (1944) on the right, both moored stern-on to Barriera (Quarry) Wharf. St. Barbara Bastion is behind the wharf and in the left background are Fort Lascaris, the Saluting Battery and the Upper Barracca. A few passengers are lining the rail of the Orcades in the foreground.
