A street scene in the town at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking south-west along the street which has a kiosk on the left and on the right is the premises of Karl Monsen. In the background is the Sadlen. These buildings are all constructed of wood. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
