The Molla district of Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is on the rock slide near the foot of the Sadlen looking north. The tower and steeple of St. Michael's Church is in the centre of the picture. A coastal passenger/cargo steamer is in the harbour. The buildings are all of wooden construction. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
