Motor fishing vessels in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

Motor fishing vessels in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking east-by-south across the harbour showing a warehouse on wooden piles on the right. Some of the fishing vessels are registered T-62-BO, T-8-KD and F-26-H. One of the warehouse fronting the harbour is occupied by M. Gabrielsen Bygnings Artikler Traelast. St. Michael's Church is in the centre and the Sadlen is in the background. All of the buildings are of wooden construction. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
