The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north-east along the waterfront showing a line of warehouses fronting the harbour and one of them is occupied by M. Gabrielsen Bygnings Artikler Traelast. Two coastal passenger/cargo steamers and a few motor fishing vessels, including two registered F60S and T.11.B are moored. The Sadlen is in the right background and the northern mountains of Klavo are in the centre and left background. All of the buildings are of wooden construction. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
