The motor lifeboat tender F from the passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) under way in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

A port quarter view of the motor lifeboat tender F of the passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) under way in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. She is leaving the passenger landing steps to return to the ship to bring another load of tourists ashore. The photographer is looking east-north-east across the harbour showing a line of warehouses fronting the harbour and three of them are occupied by Feddersen & Nissen. The north end of the Sadlen is in the right background and the northern mountains of Klavo are in the centre and left background. All of the buildings are of wooden construction. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
