The harbour and east side of the town at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north-east showing of fishing vessels, a coastal passenger/cargo steamer and some other craft moored in the harbour. Two warehouses fronting the harbour are occupied by Feddersen & Nissen. The north mountains of Klavo are in the background. All of the buildings are of wooden construction. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
