Sampans alongside a quay in Victoria harbour, Hong Kong. The photographer is on the quayside looking across the harbour showing a small steam vessel approaching the sampans which have clothes are hanging up to dry on lines attached to the masts. Many small children are on board the sampans. The land in the background is hidden by mist or fog. The precise location of this image is not known. This negative was taken during a world cruise by the Cunard Line ship Franconia (1923).
