Ships Cover for HMS Eurydice (1843), HMS Atalanta (1844) and HMS Seaflower (1873)
Ships Cover for the sail training ships HMS Eurydice (1843), HMS Atalanta [ex-Juno] (1844) and HMS Seaflower (1873). Documentation for the Eurydice mainly relates to issues of stability and ranges from May 1877 to July 1878, covering the period of her loss. Documentation for the Atalanta is much more extensive, covering issues of refits, stores and crew allocation, stability and debates between Admirals Hood, Wellesley and Symonds as to her suitability for a training role. There is also extensive documentation relating to the circumstances of her loss in February 1880. The date range of this documentation is November 1877 to November 1880. Seaflower is not covered by any specific documentation, but is oft referred to in comparison with the other two ships.
