Ship Cover for HMS Calliope (1884) and HMS Calypso (1883).
Ships Cover for the Calypso class steel corvettes HMS Calliope (1884) and HMS Calypso (1883). The documentation mainly relates to the original design proposal for the class, allocated armament, statements of dimensions and weights, stability calculations, crew complement and early 20th Century alterations. The papers commence in February 1881 during the design phase and end around December 1907, by which point Calypso was a training ship at Newfoundland and Calliope was an RNVR drill ship.
