Ships Cover for 2nd class Torpedo Boats

Ships Cover for the 2nd class Torpedo Boats TB 39 - TB 48 (1889), TB 49 (1888), TB 50 (1888), TB 58 (1879), TB 69 (1880), TB 72 (1880) and TB 81 (1882). The documentation mainly relates to stability calculations, brief trial reports, conditions of design & tender, notes to relevant naval commands concerning the performance and handling characteristics of 2nd class TBs, and a table of dimensions for TB 50. Further papers [from November 1889 onwards] at the end of the Cover deal with 56ft and 60ft guard boats for the Indian Government, based on the Samuel White (Cowes) design of TB 1 - TB 12. The latter mainly comprise stability calculations, trial reports and some tabular details of machinery. There is also a report on the performance of an aluminium-hulled 2nd class TB built by Yarrow for the French government dated October 1894. The last item in the Cover is a brief document concerning a proposal to increase ventilation to the engine and boiler spaces of the Orlando class armoured cruisers, evidently a mistaken filing intended for Cover 101. The date range of the TB related documents is November 1886 to June 1890 [October 1894 for the Indian government vessels].
