Ships Cover for the Dryad/Halcyon class torpedo gunboats HMS Dryad (1893), HMS Halcyon (1894), HMS Harrier (1894), HMS Hazard (1894) and HMS Hussar (1894). The documentation mainly relates to the initial design proposal and records of associated discussions, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, armament and ammunition allowance, schemes of complement, ships equipment, stability calculations, cost estimates, correspondence between the Admiralty and private contractors, steam trial reports, details of alterations made over the course of the ships' careers, and a number of condition reports. The earliest papers date from December 1890 when the class was first proposed and end in July 1916, by which point Halcyon and Hazard were depot ships and the rest minesweepers.
