Ships Cover for Diadem class first class protected cruisers.
Ships Cover for the Diadem class first class protected cruisers HMS Amphitrite (1898), HMS Andromeda (1897), HMS Argonaut (1898), HMS Ariadne (1898), HMS Diadem (1896), HMS Europa (1897), HMS Niobe (1897) and HMS Spartiate (1898). This Cover overlaps Cover 140 and appears to have been formed to house papers relating to the later four Diadems. However, documents relating to all the ships of the class are present. The papers mainly comprise details of tenders and correspondence with contractors, schemes of complement, statements of dimensions and weights, stability calculations and some equipment trial reports. The earliest document is dated November 1895 and the last September 1915.
