Ships Cover for ammunition barges (1902-1930). In addition to the material relating to various barges and lighters, there is a significant amount of documentation pertaining to the store carrier Islesford (1913) [these are continued in Cover 171A]. The documents mainly comprise correspondence relating to vessel specifications and Admiralty requirements, stability calculations, correspondence with contractors and estimates of costs. The earliest papers date from December 1902 and the last from May 1930.
