Ships Cover for the Cressy class first class armoured cruisers HMS Aboukir (1900), HMS Bacchante (1901), HMS Cressy (1899), HMS Euryalus (1901), HMS Hogue (1900) and HMS Sutlej (1899). The documentation mainly comprises the initial design proposals and associated minutes of meetings, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, details of ships equipment and fittings such as boats and anchors, armament details and results of gun and ammunition trials, schemes of complement, correspondence with the contractors, cost estimates, stability calculations, figures for coal endurance, steam and manoeuvreing trial reports and details of alterations. Of additional interest are some documents relating to the accidents suffered by Euryalus during her construction and notifications of defects discovered when the first ships were in service. The earliest papers date from June 1897 at the beginning of the design process and the last May 1906, by which point all were on active service.
