Ships Cover for the 30-knot and 33-knot 'special' torpedo boat destroyers (1896-1898). The documentation comprises cost estimates, details of ships fittings [particularly allocation of boats], armament, details of tenders from the building firms, reports of steam trials and water tests, details of composition applied to vessel bottoms, comparisons with contemporary German vessels of this type, coal capacity and steaming endurance, stability calculations, and condition reports. The earliest papers date from September 1895 and the latest from June 1917.
