The documentation includes details of machinery, gun and armour tenders, stability calculations, details of armour and protection arrangements, cost estimates, gun mountings and weapons, ships fittings and equipment [including anchors], machinery [including boilers, engines, shafting and propellers], reports of steaming and gunnery trials, schemes of complement, and details of alterations proposed and accepted. The earliest papers date from June 1898 with the approval to proceed with the construction of the first three ships, and the latest from December 1908 when the class was recalled to home waters from the Mediterranean.
