Ships Cover for Cadmus class steel screw sloops
Ships Cover for the Cadmus class steel screw sloops HMS Cadmus (1903), HMS Clio (1903), HMS Espiegle (1900), HMS Fantome (1901), HMS Merlin (1901) and HMS Odin (1901). The documentation mainly comprises details of alterations [including the addition of wireless equipment], schemes of complement, details of ships fittings and equipment [particularly masts and yards and cooling machinery], stability calculations, and cost estimates for upgrades. Of particular interest is a brief report on incidences of indiscipline aboard Fantome in 1920 arising partly from the state of the facilities aboard. The earliest papers date from March 1909 and the last from June 1922, by which point three had been disposed of and the last three were up for sale. See Ships Cover 191 for further papers relating to this class.
