Most of the vessels represented are unnamed and unnumbered, but they do include the St Enoch (1896), St Ives (1896), and the Recovery (1898). The documentation mainly comprises stability calculations, details of the deployment of these vessels between 1908 and 1909, specifications and requirements for new vessels, details of tenders and some contractual information, and steam trial reports. The earliest papers date from July 1896 and the last from February 1928.
