Ships Cover for Monmouth class first class armoured cruisers
Ships Cover for the Monmouth class first class armoured cruisers HMS Bedford (1901), HMS Berwick (1902), HMS Cornwall (1902), HMS Cumberland (1902), HMS Donegal (1902), HMS Essex (1901), HMS Kent (1901), HMS Lancaster (1902), HMS Monmouth (1901) and HMS Suffolk (1903). The documentation mainly comprises details of tenders and correspondence with the contractors, papers relating to the ships' propellers and some other fittings, schemes of complement, reports of gun and mounting trials, stability calculations, vessel condition reports and details of proposed and accepted alterations. The earliest papers date from June 1900 with the authorisation to build the later members of the class and the latest March 1916, by which time the seven surviving vessels were on second line wartime duties.
