Ships Cover for the Devonshire class first class armoured cruisers HMS Antrim (1903), HMS Argyll (1904), HMS Carnarvon (1903), HMS Devonshire (1904), HMS Hampshire (1903) and HMS Roxburgh (1904). The documentation mainly comprises details of the ships equipment and fittings, particularly boiler machinery, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, stability calculations, details of tenders and correspondence with the contractors, cost estimates, alterations carried out during the design stages, and details of armament and ammunition allowance. The earliest papers date from July 1901 at the beginning of the design phase and the latest from January 1905 when all six ships had been launched and were nearing completion.
