Ships Cover for the Devonshire class first class armoured cruisers HMS Antrim (1903), HMS Argyll (1904), HMS Carnarvon (1903), HMS Devonshire (1904), HMS Hampshire (1903) and HMS Roxburgh (1904). The documentation mainly comprises schemes of complement, details of alterations, specifics of tenders and correspondence with contractors, details of ships equipment and fittings, armament and ammunition allowance [reflecting designed and altered armament], stability calculations, reports of steaming, manoeuvreing and gunnery trials, vessel condition reports and lists of defects to be corrected, and data pertaining to coal endurance. The earliest papers date from April 1901 at the beginning of the design phase and the last from January 1906, by which time all members of the class were in commission.
