This Cover includes papers relating to numerous vessels of this type, but those most frequently represented in the documents are C7 [ex-Rapid] (purchased 1905), C50 (1904), C51 (1904), C80 (?), C97 (1904), C98 (1904), C99 (1904), C100 (1904), C101 (1904), C138 (1905), C139 (1905), C179 (1904), C180 (1904), C181 (1904), C182 (1904), C183 (1904), C184 (1906) and C185 (1906). The mix of documents is very eclectic in terms of subject, but does include details of tenders and correspondence with contractors, stability calculations, trial reports, details of new types of coaling equipment and reports of tests under working conditions, tables of details of all Admiralty coaling craft for the years 1907 and 1912, reports of experiments relating to coaling ships at sea, and details of coaling vessels and machinery in use with the US Navy. The earliest papers date from January 1904 and the last from March 1930.
