Ships Cover for River class destroyers (1903-1905)

Ships Cover for the River class destroyers (1903-1905). The documentation includes details of contemporary foreign destroyers - particularly German and French, steam trial reports for various members of the River class, details of alterations proposed and carried out, stability calculations, cost estimates, details of tenders and correspondence with contractors. The RN's growing interest in the use of oil-fuel shows through in this Cover, with a great deal of paperwork devoted to this issue. The earliest papers date from April 1903 and the last from January 1905. Ships Cover 200 continues some of the design discussions initiated in this Cover, but with a view to improving on the River class.
