Ships Cover for River class destroyers (1903-1905)
Ships Cover for the River class destroyers (1903-1905). The documentation mainly comprises stability claculations, reports of steam, manoeuvreing and equipment trials, details of ships fittings and equipment, lists of alterations proposed and those effected, reports of vessel performance at sea and in comparison with earlier British TBDs, and reports of defects and corrective action taken for individual members of the class. The earliest papers date from February 1904 and the last from October 1905. Ships Cover 200 continues some of the design discussions initiated in this Cover, but with a view to improving on the River class.
