Ships Cover for Adventure, Forward, Pathfinder and Sentinel class scout cruisers (1904-1905)

Ships Cover for the scout cruisers HMS Adventure (1904), HMS Attentive (1904), HMS Foresight (1904), HMS Forward (1904), HMS Pathfinder (1904), HMS Patrol (1904), HMS Sentinel (1904) and HMS Skirmisher (1905). The documentation mainly comprises detailed initial design proposals and specifications which run through most of the Cover, along with papers outlining updates and alterations to the designs. These are accompanied by detailed abstracts of tenders and copies of Admiralty correspondence with the contractors. Further documents relate to the various ships' armament, dimensions and weights, and schemes of complement. The earliest papers date from December 1901 at the outset of the design process and the latest from July 1905, by which point three of the class were in commission and the rest nearing completion.
