Ships Cover for Duke of Edinburgh and Warrior class armoured cruisers
Ships Cover for the Duke of Edinburgh and Warrior class first class armoured cruisers HMS Achilles (1905), HMS Black Prince (1904), HMS Cochrane (1905), HMS Duke of Edinburgh (1904), HMS Natal (1905) and HMS Warrior (1905). The documentation mainly comprises papers on the armament arrangement, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, correspondence with contractors, details of ships fittings and equipment, correspondence relating to design alterations [including those that led to the different armament of the Warrior class], schemes of complement, gun and steam trial reports, and stability calculations. The earliest papers date from January 1903 when the Warriors were first conceived as repeat Duke of Edinburghs, and the last from August 1910 when all six ships were in service.
