A First World War petrol or water carrier, probably 'Petrobus' or 'Petrella'
A port-bow study of one of three sister vessels lying at a mooring with white cliffs beyond. All were built by Dunlop, Bremner & Co Ltd at Port Glasgow in 1917-18. The 'Petrobus' (yard number 316) and 'Petrella' (yard number 317) were petrol carriers and the 'Petronel' (yard number 318) was a water carrier. This one flies a red flag (for inflammable material) which suggests she may be one of the first two.
