Locally built single masted wooden boats in the harbour at Batavia, Java, Indonesia. The boats are alongside the harbour wall and two of the boats have vertically extended bow and stern posts. The mast is wood and the sail's booms are bamboo. The booms and sail are stowed on crutches well above the deck and a rolled up rattan mat is suspended under the booms. Motor lorries are on the roadway and a small cargo steamer is berthed on the right.
