On board a passenger cruise ship in the Holtenau Locks on the Kiel Canal, Germany, showing the control offices between the two locks. the clock on the office building is readin 2.05. An unidentified cargo ship is in the adjoining lock. A group of men on the side of the lock appearing to be trying to sell boxed items to the passengers on board the ship. Some of the men are holding small nets on long poles, presumably to pass across the item and to collect the payment. The ship is almost certainly the Cunard Line's Lancastria (1922) because the LX negative code was allocated to her by Waterline. A vertical format negative.
