The seafront at Larnaca, Cyprus.
The seafront at Larnaca, Cyprus. The photographer is looking south along the beach showing double-ended open boats drawn up on the foreshore with one at the water's edge. Four of the boats each have a single mast. Pineapple palms are in a line between the road and the beach. In the centre of the picture is the Bust of Kimon located on Phinikoudes Promenade. Also known as the Kimon Athenian Monument, it depicts the famous Athenian General Kimon (510 - 449 BCE), watching over the harbour. A long jetty with a 2-masted sailing vessel alongside is in the background.
