Five of her wooden lifeboats are being rowed around the anchorage while one of the ship's motor lifeboats is under way in the foreground, closer to the ship. The photographer is on board the ship looking towards the shore and on the right is a breakwater with a few sailing vessels berthed just beyond it inside the small harbour.
