The dockyard at Lisbon, Portugal. The photographer is on the end of the Alcantara wharf looking north-west-by-west towards the dry dock No. 1 at Rocha which has a single funnel, 2-mast steamer docked down under repair. Hopper barges AGPL No. 3 and AGPL No. 5, a bucket dredger and two tugs are in the Alcantara Dock (Doca de Alcantara). The twin bell towers of the Igreja Paroquial Sao Francisco de Paula can be seen to the left of centre.
