The dockyard at Lisbon, Portugal. The photographer is on board a boat heading away from the Alcantara Dock looking west-north-west showing a single masted, gaff rigged lighter withe B789TL on the sail and the bow. A small steamship is berthed in front of the dock gates of No. 1 dry dock which has a larger steamship docked down. Dry dock No. 2 appears to contain a couple of small sailing vessels. A Portuguese Navy Vouga class destroyer is alongside the quay on the right. The twin bell towers of the Igreja Paroquial Sao Francisco de Paula can be seen on the skyline in the Alcantara district of the city.
