The Portuguese passenger/cargo liner Lima (1907) in the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira.

A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Portuguese passenger/cargo liner Lima (1907) in the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira. The photographer is on board a passenger cruise ship anchored further out and is looking north showing the waterfront of the town just to the east of the Bahia da Pontinha. A large warehouse or factory building is on the right and the steeple of the Catedral of Nossa Senhora da Assuncao is to the right of centre with the square tower of the Jesuit College Church beyond it. A tall brick-built column with a mast on top of it is just beyond the mainmast of the Lima (1907).
