The German passenger cruise ship General von Steuben (1922) at Funchal, Madeira.
A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the German Norddeutscher Lloyd passenger cruise ship General von Steuben (1922) in the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira. The hull of the ship is constructed with joggled plating which shows up clearly on this negative. The photographer is looking north from seaward. On the right and further inshore is the Lamport & Holt passenger cruise ship Voltaire (1923), also seen from just abaft her starboard beam, and she has her forward accommodation ladder deployed.
