Bumboats in the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira.

Bumboats in the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira. The photographer is in a boat looking at two of the bumboats from which the local traders are hoping to sell their fully rigged model sailing yachts. The nearest boat has two models in it, one sloop rigged and one ketch rigged. The other bumboat has just one ketch rigged boat in it. The east end of the town is in the background and on the right is a large warehouse or factory building with a circular chimney. On the left is the steeple of the Catedral of Nossa Senhora da Assuncao.
