The Bahia da Potinha breakwater, Mohle Fort and the anchorage at Funchal, Madeira. The photographer is looking east from the garden of Reid's Palace Hotel showing the Mohle fort at the end of the breakwater which has been strengthened with large concrete blocks on the south side. Out in the anchorage are four unidentified ships and a Canadian Pacific Steamships passenger cruise ship of the Mont class which is dressed overall. A number of lighters are at anchor on the right.
