A line of flat-roofed commercial premises leads to the gate and signs on these buildings include Tobacco Merchant, The Union Jack, Civilian Suits to Order, Fw. Leonardi and London. A number of horse drawn carriages and motor vehicles are on Barriera (Quarry) Wharf and a few dghaisas are near the water's edge. Some of the houses have washing hung out to dry.
