The photographer is looking south-east from a passenger cruise ship anchored in the fjord showing two of her boats transferring passengers between the ship and the shore. The Meroks Hotel is at the water's edge in the centre of the picture and slightly to the left above the Meroks Hotel is the Hotel Geiranger. The negative is very slightly unsharp.
