Overlooking part of the city and the main harbour entrance at Mitylene, Lesbos Island, Greece. The photographer is on raised ground looking north-east over the roofs of the city and the main harbour. A number of caiques are just inside the south breakwater on the right. The long east breakwater is in the right background and the Mytilene Statue of Liberty, erected in 1930, is at the shore end of this breakwater. The domed church of Saint Therapon is in the centre and the ruins of Mytilene castle fortress are in the left background.
