Port Hercule and the district of Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Port Hercule and the Monte Carlo district of Monaco. The photographer is looking east-north-east from the west side of the harbour showing the north breakwater and harbour entrance of Port Hercule with the domed and twin towered Casino de Monte Carlo beyond the north east corner of the harbour. The bow of the passenger tender La Nymphe (1916) can be seen alongside the north quay on the extreme left. A luxury motor yacht is berthed stern-on to the north breakwater and above it the footbridge over the railway line in front of the casino can be seen. At anchor offshore and seen from only just abaft her starboard beam is the Cunard Line passenger cruise ship Laconia (1922). Mont Agel is in the left background and Cape Martin is in the right background.
