A wharf and warehouses in the port at Montevideo, Uruguay. The photographer is on board a passenger cruise ship alongside the wharf showing laden railway wagons on the quay. A number of men are rod and line fishing while sitting on the edge of the quay. Two tugs are berthed at the end of the wharf. The Dirección Nacional de Aduanas de Uruguay (National Customs Headquarters Office) completed in 1931 is in the left background.
